Saints Cyril and Methodius Church (Dubina)
Dubina was the first of the Czech-Moravian settlements in Texas. Settlers seeking a home in South Central Texas encountered a fierce hailstorm. They found shelter under large oak trees and decided to stay, establishing the town of Dubina. The original church was built on land donated by Joseph Peter. That church was destroyed, then rebuilt in 1909, then destroyed again by a hurricane. Ed Janecka completed the interior of Saints Cyril and Methodius. It fell into disrepair but has been restored by church members.
