St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Ammansville

Ammansville was settled during the 1870s by German and Czech immigrants. Father Jules Vrana established a church and a school were also established in 1890. The original church was destroyed in 1909, rebuilt, destroyed by fire and rebuilt again. Today's church is adorned with lovely statues, many of which were saved from the disastrous fire in 1918. Painted ceilings by unknown artists are still evident.
